What we are
Vision
To become a nationally and internationally recognized university centre for cognitive modeling and intelligent systems, grounded in open science and the responsible use of artificial intelligence.
Research
Intended research areas
The laboratory is newly established, so these are not yet a research identity. They follow from the mission: six areas we intend to work in, from machine learning and vision to language, affect, cognitive modeling and intelligent systems.

We work with academic groups, public organisations and companies.
Research collaborationJoint studies, shared datasets and co-authored work in machine learning, vision, language and cognitive modeling.
Project or consortiumA defined work package in a funded or industry project, from field-data analysis to a digital application.
AI prototype or pilotA scoped prototype we can train, evaluate and hand over, using local GPU workstations or a private model deployment.
Evaluation and benchmarkingIndependent tests of model behaviour, robustness and fitness for a stated task, with a written evaluation.
Training and knowledge transferWorkshops and course material for students and partners, including machine learning for environmental and applied data.

GPU workstations
Dedicated GPU workstations for training and evaluating our models locally, with access to national HPC and cloud for larger jobs.

Foundational project

Where we are
The laboratory is at the University of Zadar, Trg kneza Višeslava 9. Contact us with a research question, a project idea, or to visit. University of Zadar students who want to write their final thesis in the lab can write to us.
